The following Greensboro, NC housing data was retrieved from the Triad MLS on April 6, 2010 and focuses on Greensboro, NC Single Family Real Estate Home Sales in March 2010.
The numbers for March indicate a real estate market that is trying to rebound. With 645 single family home closing in Greensboro during the first quarter of 2010, this data shows the market being only 4% off from the same quarter last year. Homes under contract (pending) in Greensboro have increased by 54% when compared to 2009 for the month of March. We expect that we will finish April strong but are not sure what May will bring. The tax credits for new and existing homeowners are set to expire on April 30th and there is no doubt that the tax credits have helped fuel some of these increases in sales.
All of these factors make this the ideal time for buyers to get off the fence and purchase. With interest rates starting to inch upward, a huge selection of homes plus the tax credit from Uncle Sam, buying right now is a sweet deal for qualified buyers. Sellers need to be aware that buyers may be more scarce after April 30.
