Greensboro, NC Real Estate Home Report:
The Greensboro Home Market Report for 2010 has had lots of ups and downs. It was a year of Federal tax credits that influenced home sales. The tax credits, which expired during the summer, caused home sales in Greensboro to peak in June. Greensboro home sales dropped significantly in July but have remained fairly constant since then. Homes under contract shows some signs of improvement over the last few months.
What will the Greensboro home market bring in 2011? We can only speculate but several trends are clear at this point. The number of homes under contract in Greensboro remains healthy, increasing 27% when compared to December 2009. The number of homes under contract is an indicator of how the house market is going to do in the next 30-60 days. Interest rates continue to be extremely low and the inventory of homes is high. However, even though interest rates are still low, we have seen them steadily increase over the last few weeks so don't delay if you are considering a new home or real estate investment property. Also, although the inventory of homes is still high, homes for sale in Greensboro has dropped since last month, as has the number of new homes being listed for sale.
